Assessments

The Assessments section allows you to create, manage, and grade various types of student assessments including tests, quizzes, assignments, and projects.

Accessing Assessments

  1. Click "Assessments" in the sidebar navigation
  2. View all your assessments across classes

Creating Assessments

Starting a New Assessment

  1. Click "Create Assessment"
  2. Select the class
  3. Choose assessment type
  4. Fill in details

Adding Questions (Optional)

For online assessments:

  1. Add question text
  2. Select question type:
    • Multiple choice
    • True/False
    • Short answer
    • Essay
  3. Set point value
  4. Add correct answer (for auto-grading)

Managing Assessments

Assessment List

View all assessments with:

  • Title and type
  • Class assignment
  • Due date
  • Status (draft, active, completed)
  • Submission count

Editing Assessments

  1. Find the assessment
  2. Click "Edit"
  3. Make changes
  4. Save

WARNING

Be careful editing active assessments. Changes may affect students who have already started.

Duplicating Assessments

To reuse an assessment:

  1. Click "Duplicate"
  2. Modify for new class/date
  3. Save as new assessment

Publishing Assessments

Making Assessment Live

  1. Review assessment details
  2. Click "Publish"
  3. Students can now view and complete

Scheduling Publication

Set future publish date:

  1. In assessment settings, enable "Schedule"
  2. Select publish date and time
  3. Assessment auto-publishes at set time

Viewing Submissions

Submission List

See all student submissions:

  • Student name
  • Submission date/time
  • Status (submitted, late, missing)
  • Score (if graded)

Individual Submissions

Click on a submission to view:

  • Student's answers/work
  • Time taken
  • Submitted files (if applicable)
  • Grading interface

Grading Assessments

Manual Grading

  1. Open the submission
  2. Review student work
  3. Enter score for each question/section
  4. Add feedback (optional)
  5. Click "Save Grade"

Quick Grading

For multiple submissions:

  1. Use the "Grade All" view
  2. Enter scores in a spreadsheet-like interface
  3. Save all grades at once

Auto-Grading

For supported question types:

  • Multiple choice auto-grades
  • True/False auto-grades
  • Review and adjust as needed

Providing Feedback

Add feedback for students:

  • Overall comments
  • Question-specific feedback
  • Suggestions for improvement

Assessment Analytics

Class Performance

View how the class performed:

  • Average score
  • Score distribution
  • Question-by-question analysis
  • Top and lowest scores

Identifying Patterns

Use analytics to:

  • Find commonly missed questions
  • Identify struggling students
  • Adjust future teaching
